The national leadership of The Muslim Congress (TMC), one of Nigeria’s leading faith-based organisation, has commended the federal government and the armed forces for their tremendous efforts in decimating Boko Haram/ISWAP fighters and bandits.
The Amir of TMC and Chairman, Committee on Social Mobility, Economy and Politics, Alhaji Abdul Wasi’i Taiwo Bangbala, while addressing journalists at the quarterly State of the Nation address held in Lagos, said the ongoing decimation exercise must be sustained to enhance the prospects of peace in Nigeria.
Muslim News findings revealed that thousands of terrorists have been decimated by the gallant Nigerian troops in various operational theaters within the 6 geo-political zones of the country.
We reliably gathered that In the past 2 weeks, both kinetic and non-kinetic operations of the Nigerian army were conducted in the various theatres of operations, with significant outcomes recorded.
Amir TMC, ably represented by its Secretary-General, Alhaji Taiwo Hassan Adeshina, at the 23rd State of the Nation address lauded the Nigerian armed forces for their tremendous efforts and the onerous sacrifices they have been making in the ongoing efforts to decimate Boko Haram and ISWAP.
According to him, The capacity of these evil groups to terrorise the citizens of this nation through kidnappings and killings has been severely weakened. We also commend the Commander-in-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari, under whose leadership this great feat has been recorded.
“But the onslaught must not stop until every remnant of Boko Haram and ISWAP is decimated and every inch of the Nigerian territory is being controlled by the Nigerian government. We urge the military to strengthen and improve on the synergy between its different departments so as to sustain the heat on the evil groups.”
The Muslim Congress also called on the local people in the affected areas to continue working with the military by providing relevant information that will aid the ongoing decimation of the criminal and terrorist elements.
“The peace and security of this nation is critical to its well-being and prosperity and must thus be sustained at all costs. The federal government must ensure that the welfare of our security forces is adequately taken care of as well as the provision of modern and effective arms and ammunitions that will give them the edge in battle with the enemies of the nation,” he added.
