Four outstanding Nigerian Muslim personalities were on Sunday honoured at Prof. Lakin Akintola’s book launch in Lagos for their contributions to the development of Islam.
The 429-page book, titled: “My Jihad: The Autobiography of an Eschatologist cum human Rights Activist”, is the autobiography of Prof. Akintola.
The human rights activist who founded Muslim Rights Concern, MURIC, also held his retirement ceremony from Lagos State University, LASU, on Monday, after 39 illustrious years of service.
The program, which attracted important personalities from all walks of life, was held at the Combo Hall of Lagos State Television.

The awardees were described as men of letters who had written their names in the annals of history with their contributions to religious development.
The four awardees were Mallam Nasir El-Rufai who received an award as an “Icon of Arewa Integrity”, while the Oluwo of Iwo, HRH, Oba Dr. AbdulRasheed Adewale Akanbi was awarded as the “Defender of the faithful”.
The immediate former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof. Isa Ali Pantami (ably represented) was awarded as “The Pride of Islamic Scholars” while Dr. Muiz Banire was awarded as the “Hero of Badr” among other awardees.
