Aare Musulumi hosts LASU record setter, other first class graduates Sunday

– Oyo Dep Gov, Iyalode Adini of Yorubaland, ex-Commissioners, others to honour four LASU Hijabite scholars

Ms Aminat Yusuf has continued to be a pride of Islam for her outstanding and record-setting academic excellence having emerged as the best-graduating students in the history of Lagos State University (LASU) with a perfect CGPA of 5.0 from the Faculty of Law.

In celebration of this great pride of Islam, the leader of the Ummah in Yorùbáland, Edo & Delta States, His Eminence Alhaji Dawud Makanjuola Akinola (De-Damak), Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland land, Edo and Delta States will be celebrating her and other three (3) first class Hijabi muslimaat.

The Edo State-born scholar will be honoured alongside three of her mates; the trio of Balikis Rufai, Maryam Lawal and Modinat Olowogaba, who also graduated with first class from the same faculty at the just concluded #LASU26thConvocation..

Recall that Muslim News had earlier reported that the four hijab-wearing Muslimaat were among the top five that graduated with first class from the Faculty of Law, Lagos State University, LASU, during the 2021/2022 academic session.

A few weeks after their success story went viral on social media via Muslim News’ publication, the Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland has concluded plans to host them at his villa ( at Bola Babalakin Crescent, Agodi GRA opposite Army officers Mess, Ibadan) on Sunday, July 16, 2023, by 11am.

Speaking with Muslim News, the spokesperson to the Aare Musulumi who is also Gov Makinde’s Ex Aide on Islamic Affairs, Imam Dr. Abd’Rasheed Adewale Abdul Azeez said the leadership of Islamic organisations and top Muslim personalities within and outside Oyo state have been invited to the reception, including the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Alhaji Barr AbdulRaheem Bayo Lawal; and Iyalode Adini of Yorubaland, Alhaja Sidikat Aderibigbe.

Other dignitaries to attend the occasion include the immediate past commissioner for Women affairs in Oyo, Alhaja Kafilat Olayiwola; ex-Commissioner for Women Affairs, Alhaja Fausat Sanni; Chairman Oyo State Civil Service Commission, Alhaji Abiodun Aderibigbe Kamaldeen; Chairman Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission, Alhaji Aare Ishak Olagunju (SAN) and Dean Faculty of Law, LASU, Prof. AbdulKareem Olatoye.

Distinguish academia are also set to grace the event including Professor Isa Ade Bello, Professor Rasheed Aderinoye, Professor Teslim Ayo Ahmed, Prof Abdul Hafeez Oladosu, Prof Abdurrahman Oloyede, Prof Musbau Babatunde among several others

The Grand Imam of Oyo state and Patron of Leagueof imams And Alfas of Yorubaland, Sheikh Al-Imam AbdulGaniy AbuBakr Agbotomokekere; Chairman Oyo State Muslim Community, Alhaji Ishaq Kunle Sanni; Secretary Oyo State Muslim Community, Alhaji Murziq Siyanbola and Executive Secretary of MUSWEN, Professor Muslih Yahyah are other expected dignitaries at the reception.

Also, the Ameerah of FOMWAN from five states, Edo, Oyo, Osun, Ogun and Lagos with national officers of the Muslim Women organisation will be in attendance, alongside representatives of Ansar-ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, Muslim Association of Nigeria (MAN), Conference of All Muslim Organisations of Nigeria (CAMON), Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN), National Council of Muslim Youth Organisations (NACOMYO), Nasrul-lahi-l- Fathi Society of Nigeria (NASFAT), Alfathu-l-Qareeb Muslim Organisation of Nigeria (QAREEB) and Muslim Lawyers Association of Nigeria (MULAN) will be there to celebrate the Law graduate scholars.
