Blissful glitz as Miftaudeen Raji weds Fatimah Ahmad in Sagamu

SAGAMU – In a joyous celebration that exemplified the unity of hearts, Miftaudeen Raji, a senior correspondent of Vanguard newspaper, joined in matrimony with his beloved, Fatimah Ahmad Osundina.

In a ceremony that resonated with the beauty of Islamic tradition, the nuptials took place on Saturday, 26th August, 2023, at the picturesque Lalu Estate Community field in Sagamu, Ogun State.

Amidst the enchanting ambiance of the event, Dr. Zafaran Adeniyi, Chairman of the management board of Vanguards Academy, Odosongelu, Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, took the opportunity to share his insights on the intricacies of modern marriages.

Drawing from the rich wisdom of Islamic teachings, Dr. Adeniyi emphasized the importance of proximity and psychological closeness within the family, echoing the model set forth by the marriage of Fatima and Ali during the time of the revered Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

Dr. Adeniyi passionately advocated for the adoption of the Islamic approach to marriage as a means to ensure not only the happiness of the couple, but also the stability of the home and society.

He stressed that the proximity of family members, both physically and emotionally, can greatly contribute to marital harmony and reduce the likelihood of marital crises.

In his address, Dr. Adeniyi stated, “One of the challenges of modern marriages is the growing distance between family members.

“Marital bonds remain stronger when families are closely knit, a principle exemplified by the timeless union of Fatima and Ali.”

The absence of mothers in the home, Dr. Adeniyi emphasized, has been shown to detrimentally impact the family structure, an observation supported by research from various sources, including American studies.

He urged women to dedicate time to their homes and children, asserting that three hours of work per day should suffice for the sake of the family and society.

Highlighting the sanctity of marriage and its role in shaping the community, Dr. Adeniyi emphasized that Islam provides a comprehensive framework for marriage that goes beyond mere ceremonial formalities.

He underscored the significance of good intentions, prayer, and responsible financial practices as essential components of a blessed marriage.

The event was graced by friends, family, and well-wishers of the couple.

The union of Miftaudeen Raji and Fatimah Ahmad Osundina serves as a poignant reminder of the valuable teachings offered by Islam, fostering not only love and companionship, but also stability and blessings within the institution of marriage.

During his counsel to the newlyweds, Dr. Lukman Adefuye, the CEO of HOB Hospital in Abeokuta, emphasized the importance of drawing guidance from the teachings of Islam as they embark on this journey together.

Dr. Adefuye advised the wife to demonstrate humility and respect towards her husband, regardless of her position. He also encouraged her to foster harmonious relations with her husband’s family.

Recognizing that conflicts are inevitable in marriages, he urged the couple to adopt the habit of apologizing and to actively work on improving their communication.

Directing his advice to the husband, Dr. Adefuye stressed the significance of being attentive to his duties and responsibilities, rather than becoming a passive participant. He highlighted the importance of shouldering financial obligations.

Ustaz AbdulLateef Ayilara, known for his contributions at the Ogun State Ministry of Environment, underscored the need for the couple to nurture their spiritual well-being together throughout their marriage. He advised them to exercise patience and set an example of a strong, enduring marriage for others to emulate.

Ustaz Ayilara also advised both partners to maintain patience and specifically advised the husband to develop emotional intelligence.

In addition, he directed counsel towards the bride, urging her to not only possess academic qualifications but also embody the qualities of Maturity, Responsibility, and Submissiveness (MRS) within the context of marriage.
