A brilliant Nigerian Muslimah, Basirat Oluwadamilola Rufai who emerged as the overall best graduating student of the University of Ibadan with an outstanding 6.9/7.0 grade point in 2021 has won a full PhD scholarship to a university in the United States.
Basirat Rufai, who hails from Abeokuta, Ogun State, recorded distinctions in all her courses, including Clinical Pharmacy and carted away major prizes during the 2018/19 academic session.
Muslim News reported how the Muslimah and former Assistant Librarian of the MSSN of the school was praised by the Muslim community for her academic feats when the story broke in 2021.

She remained consistent in her excellent academic pursuit as she earned a full PhD scholarship to Rutger University, Camdsen in the United States.
Basirat shared her achievement of winning the scholarship to study for her doctorate degree on her LinkedIn page. She mentioned that she will be studying at the Computational Center for Computational and Integrative Biology at Rutgers University.
She added that she was awarded the full-ride scholarship in the form of an assistantship and a presidential fellowship for the program. ”I am excited to share that I will be starting my PhD program at the Center for Computational and Integrative Biology at Rutgers University – Camden,” Basirat wrote.
