NAHCON boss lauds AHOUN, recommends training for its members

Hajj 2024: NAHCON meets Saudi service provider, seeks enhanced service delivery

The acting Chairman/CEO of National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Malam Jalal Ahmad Arabi, OON, fwc, has lauded the remarkable effort of the Association for Hajj and Umrah operators of Nigeria (AHUON) to organise a hitch-free Hajj 2024 through the training of its members on new initiative.

The acting chairman stated this at the seminar organised by AHOUN, an umbrella body of hajj and umrah operators, to train its members on new initiatives

The Chairman stated this at the seminar organized by AHUON held at the Immaculate Hotel, Abuja.

Malam Arabi who was the special guest at the occasion held on Monday at the Immaculate Hotel, Abuja, emphasized the need for positive partnership between NAHCON and the association to make sure pilgrims get value for their money.

Represented by the Director, Inspectorate and Compliance, Alhaji Alidu Shittu, the acting chairman commended the effort of the organisers in putting up the training with a view to enhance their members’ knowledge on new developments in hajj operation, urging them to enroll in the commission’s newly established Hajj Institute of Nigeria (HIN) for professional studies.

“Mr. President, I want to urge you and your members to avail yourself the series of training been organized by the Hajj Institute of Nigeria in order to bring members up to speed and abreast of the current happenings in the hajj industry. It may interest you to know that top management staff of the commission just graduated from the Institute with a certificate in strategic management of hajj & umrah.”

In a statement issued by the commission’s Deputy Director, Information and Publication, Mal. Mousa Ubandawaki, the acting Chairman also made known that the commission will soon embark on grassroots mobilization of pilgrims for 2024 Hajj, using local languages to reach our intending pilgrims. ”

“Local radio stations across the country will be utilized in this regard because the hand of the clock is ticking towards the deadline fixed by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj

He assured that the commission will leave no stone unturned to make the 2024 hajj operation a huge success, adding that AHUON’s continued co-operation, support and prayers will assist in this regard.

He expressed appreciation to the association for their time and resources deployed into hajj and umrah management and the golden opportunity given to him as the special guest of honor.
