The Baba Adinni of Lagos, Sheikh Abdul Hafeez Abou Nolla has returned to His Creator, Allah.
Muslim News gathered that Sheikh Abou, one of the topmost Islamic scholars in Nigeria, died on Tuesday, 9 January 2024, aged 101.
As of press time, the cause of death could not be ascertained but sources close to the family told Muslim News that it was a brief illness due to old age-related health issues.
The Vice Chairman of the Executive Council, Lagos State Central Mosque, Alhaji Alabi-Macfoy also confirmed the death of Baba Adinni.

“WE therefore regret to announce the death of our father-In-Islam, BABA ADINNI OF LAGOS – (HIS EMINENCE SHEIKH ABDUL HAFEEZ ASHAMU ABOU, OFR) who died TODAY Tuesday, 9th January, 2024 at his residence.
“PLEASE JOIN us by 2:00 PM TOMORROW, WEDNESDAY, 10TH JANUARY, 2024 at the LAGOS CENTRAL MOSQUE for his JANAZA PRAYER after which we proceed to ABARI CEMETERY for burial,” the statement stated, in part.
May ALMIGHTY ALLAH, in His infinite mercy, forgive his shortcomings, grant him Al-Janat Fridaus and give us all the fortitude to bear the great loss. Ameen
