The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has announced the sighting of the crescent moon of Ramadan 1445 AH some moments ago.
This implies that fasting will commence in the Kingdom tomorrow, Monday, March 11, 2024.
Inside the Haramain confirmed the report in a tweet on X (formerly Twitter).

“The crescent of Ramadan 1445/2024 has been sighted in Saudi Arabia! Subsequently, Ramadan 1445/2024 begins tomorrow, 11 March 2024. Taraweeh prayers will begin in the two Holy Mosques after Isha prayers,” it read.
Meanwhile, Nigerian Muslims are also on the lookout for the new moon of Ramadan moon immediately after sunset of today, Sunday, March 10 which is equivalent to 29th of Sha’aban.
The Sultan of Sokoto Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar had directed Muslims to search for the new moon tonight.
Amid this directive, the Chief Imam of Lagos State, Sheikh Oluwatoyin Abou-Nolla, has urged Muslims in Lagos State to monitor the announcement by the Sultan, noting it is the tradition in the state.

He said it is important to follow the leadership in Islam.
“Like it’s our tradition in Lagos, we urge all Muslims in the state to monitor the announcement from His Eminence the Sultan of Sokoto Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar. It is crucial in Islam to follow established leadership in line with the Quranic injunction that says: Follow Allah, and His Prophet and people in authority,” the Chief Imam said in a video announcement.
Sheikh Abou-Nolla also urged Lagos Muslims to include the state and country in their prayers.
“We also remind you to include Lagos State and Nigeria in general in your prayers during this month of intense spiritual rejuvenation. May we witness many more of Ramadan.”
