• Feat is a win for Islam, Muslim sisters, says awardee

The management of Alimosho General Hospital, in the Igando area of Lagos has conferred its best officer award for the first quarter of the year 2024 to PT Nofisat Kamorudeen-Ariyibi.

PT Kamorudeen-Ariyibi, was presented with the prestigious award on Wednesday, April 3, by the Managing Director/CEO of the hospital, Dr Ayodapo Shoyinka, during the first Staff Forum of the year

Muslim News gathered that the proud Muslimah is replacing another Muslim lady, Dr Kafayah Onigbanjo, who won the award for the fourth quarter of 2023.

The MD/CEO said Hajia Kamorudeen-Ariyibi’s emergence as the winner was not a surprise, adding that it was a well-deserved feat.

The Service Chatter Director, Dr Piponshuhu also said the mother of two was given the award due to her punctuality, dedication to work and friendly relationship with patients, which formed a major benchmark for the award.

The award-winning Muslimah, in a short message of appreciation, revealed that the award is a win for Islam and Muslim sisters.

She said, “I appreciate the congratulatory messages and prayers. To me, each award I receive in the discharge of my duties represents a win for my Muslim sisters and Islam. Jazakumullah Khayran.”

Speaking with Muslim News, Hajia Kamorudeen-Ariyibi, currently the Head of Pediatric Unit of Physiotherapy department, said she dedicates the award to her biological children, who she described as her greatest cheerleaders.

“I also dedicate it to the children with disabilities that I treat at work and their parents who have so much faith in me. It represents hope for my clients at work,” she added.

She joined the hospital in 2020 as the Assistant Director of Physiotherapy and won the Best Physiotherapist Award in 2022.

While at Isolo General Hospital, PT Kamorudeen-Ariyibi also won Best Physiotherapist of the Year in 2015 and 2019 respectively.

Hajia Kamorudeen-Ariyibi, a 1998 graduate of Medical Rehabilitation (Physiotherapy) from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, was also crowned the overall best physiotherapist in Lagos State in 2009.

The award, Muslim News learnt, was conferred by the Lagos State Health Family which includes the Health Service Commission (HSC) and Lagos State Ministry of Health (LSMH).

She also worked at the Gbagada General Hospital, where she emerged the Best Physiotherapist of the Year in 2008.

Encomiums have continued to pour in for Hajia Kamorudeen-Ariyibi from family and friends, particularly members of the Guild of Muslim Professionals (GMP).

The proprietress of Dream Park, Hajia Rahmat Oguntola, who broke the news, with a special portrait frame wrote; Mashaa’ Allah, you’re always a winner, and we’re dearly proud of your success. Congratulations, ma’am.”

Affirming the awardee’s dedication to work, Pharmacist Halimah Adedeji, said, “There’s rarely a hospital Hajia Nofisat will work and she will not be recognised. Thanks for all you do in the healthcare sector. More of Allah’s Rahmah and Sakina⁩h. Wish you all the best dear Sis.

Hajia Qudrah Badru said, “Big sis, keep soaring high, we are always proud of you.”
