Professor Mahfouz Adedimeji has been appointed Chairman of the newly reconstituted editorial board of UNILORIN BULLETIN, a weekly newsletter of the University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Kwara State.
The appointment is coming barely two months after Prof. Adedimeji returned to the institution upon completing his 3-year tour of duty as pioneer Vice Chancellor of Ahman Pategi University, Patigi, Kwara State.
Muslim News gathered that Prof. Adedimeji’s appointment was approved by the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, in a memo dated Tuesday, April 2, 2024.
According to the memo signed by UNILORIN’s Registrar, Mr Mansur Adeleke Alfanla, the tenure of the editorial board commences immediately. The current Director of the institution’s Corporate Affairs, Mr. Kunle Akogun, will serve as its Secretary.
Other members of the board are: Prof. Mary Esere of the Department of Counsellor Education; Prof. K. A. Rafiu of the Department of Linguistics and Nigerian Languages and a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Mass Communication, Dr Oba Abdulkadir Laaro.
The board also includes the Head of the Department of Islamic Law, Dr Azizat Amoloye-Adebayo and Mr Yunus Abdulmuqtadir of the Computer Management Services and Information Technology (COMSIT).
The new Chairman is a Professor of Pragmatics and Applied Linguistics. He had served as Head of UNILORIN’s Directorate of Corporate Affairs before embarking on a three-year tour of duty as pioneer Vice Chancellor of Ahman Pategi University, Patigi, Kwara State, in 2021.
