Prominent faith-based organisation in Nigeria, Nasrullahil-l-Fatih Society (NASFAT), is holding its 7th Biennial Conference in London.
Hosted by its UK/Ireland zone, the global Islamic organisation commenced the conference on Thursday May 2, 2024, and is billed to end it on Sunday, May 5, 2024.
This is the first time ever NASFAT is taking its biennial conference outside of Africa and the second time outside the shores of Nigeria, Muslim News gathered.
The 4th Biennial Conference held in Accra, Ghana in 2017.
In a statement obtained by Muslim News, President of NASFAT, Alhaji Ayodeji AbdulWahid AbdulRauf, said the choice of London for the 7th Biennial Conference was strategic and specifically aimed at positioning their organisation as a strong voice in addressing global economic crises, conflicts and environmental problems.
“The conference was equally aimed at forging a cohesive Society, whereby members in Nigeria and those in the diaspora are able to synergize towards the attainment of the aims and objectives of the Society,” he added.
Muslim News gathered that the theme of the four-day conference is ‘Navigating the Current World: Strategies and Solutions for Relevance and Growth’.
The opening ceremony holds on Thursday at the Kent Hill Park Training and Conference Centre, Milton Keynes, United Kingdom.
Delegates from various zones and branches across the world making up NASFAT are expected to participate in the conference.
A major highlight of the conference will be lectures to be delivered by renowned scholars and resource persons drawn from Nigeria and abroad.
Other important activities lined up for the event include the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Society, President’s scorecard, dinner with the President and syndicate sessions.
The President, Alhaji AbdulRauf explained that the conference was originally scheduled for 2021 but was shifted as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic which engulfed the world.
