– Demands justice for “over 100 journalists murdered in Gaza”
Muslim News Publisher, Rasheed Abubakar led his staff on Wednesday and Thursday, May 1 and 2 to create awareness at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) and Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) about the sacrifices journalists reporting Israel’s war on Gaza go through on a daily basis in order to accurately inform them and the world.
They were seen displaying placards with inscriptions such as “stop killing journalists in Palestine, journalism is not a crime, Protect Journalists in Gaza”. Another placard also had the picture of Wael Al-Dahdouh, the latest winner of the Global Muslim Media Personalty of Year Award.
The Publisher urged the students to express their solidarity for journalists who have been subjected to attacks, harassment, victimisation, bombing and killing for standing by the truth, as the world marks the World Press Freedom Day.
