Al-Qalam Schools’ Director bags Masters Degree from University of Dundee

Al-Qalam Schools’ Director bags Masters Degree from University of Dundee

•Feat, dream come true, says Hajia Rukayat

The Director of Academics at Al-Qalam Schools Ibadan, Oyo State Capital, Hajia Rukayat Abimbola Otun, has bagged a Masters Degree from the University of Dundee, Scotland in the United Kingdom.

Hajia Rukayat Otun who bagged a Master of Education degree in Leading, Learning, and Teaching, was among the 2024 graduands celebrated on Thursday, June 20, at Caird Hall, Dundee City Centre, Dundee Scotland.

Muslim News gathered that the journey began 18 months ago when she enrolled in the programme that has a robust curriculum with a wide range of subjects including innovation in education, organisational leadership, curriculum development, instructional technology, educational psychology, among others.

Hajia Rukayat Otun boasts two decades of teaching experience.

Speaking on the feat, she described it as a dream come true, adding that the knowledge will empower her to lead more impactful programmes for the school.

“Earning this degree is a dream come true. The knowledge and skills gained will not only help me become a more effective educator but also empower me to lead initiatives that drive meaningful improvements in the school system,” she said.

She thanked Allah for the successful completion of the programme, while also appreciating the support of Al-Qalam’s management and staff.

She added, “My gratitude shall remain incomplete without appreciating family, friends, and well-wishers for their moral support and prayers towards the successful completion of my Masters degree.”

Throughout her studies, Hajia Rukayat balanced her leadership responsibilities at Al-Qalam Schools with her coursework, demonstrating exceptional dedication and time management, Muslim News learnt.

The management of Al-Qalam Schools also congratulated Hajia Rukayat on her feat, noting it underlines her passion for education and further cements her standing as a transformative leader in education.

“Rukayat exemplifies the qualities of a transformative leader in education. Her passion, dedication, and innovative mindset are exactly what our schools need to navigate the challenges of modern education,” the School’s Principal Mr. Idris Afolabi stated.
