Rawdotu-t-Tanzeel graduates 27 young Quran memorisers

… advocates early Islamic education for Muslim kids

The ancient city of Ile-Ife, Osun State, South West, Nigeria, was agog on Sunday, August 18th, 2024 as Rawdotu-t-Tanzeel Tahfeez and Arabic School graduated 27 young Qur’an memorisers.

The graduands, who are all below age of 18 have now gained the mastery of the rules governing recitation and memorization of the Glorious Qur’an and Islamic etiquettes, were awarded certificates of completion during the 3rd graduation ceremony of the Qur’an memorization and I’daadiyah (Basic Education ) and Thannawiyyah in Arabic and Islamic Studies.

Dignitaries from within and outside Nigeria made time out of their busy schedule to witness the beautiful renditions of the Noble Qur’an and adornment by the 27 graduates of the Islamic Institute; with some that joined the event virtually.

For hours, each of the Hufaadh – (memorisers of the Noble Qur’an) took over the stage and sonorously read the Qur’an to the pleasure of everyone in attendance.

Having arrested the minds and souls of listeners with beautiful recitation, they filled the atmosphere with the light of Allah’s Divine Guidance for Mankind.

A handful of them could not contain their emotions as tears of joy flowed freely down their eyes during the beautiful renditions of the holy Book with sonorous voices.

Graduands

Speaking at the event which took place at the Wura Event centre in Ile Ife, the Director of the institute, Mallam Mutiu Uthman said the school was established for the purpose of imparting Islamic knowledge into children at early stage in life.

While welcoming guests to the occasion, Uthman described the successful completion of the memorisation of the Noble Qur’an as one of the best achievements in the lives of the graduands, saying it will illuminate their paths to success in both words.

He congratulated the graduates and enjoined them to be committed to the Qur’an for a lifetime, as their journey with the Book of Allah has just begun.

The director urged all Muslim parents to expose their children to early Islamic education due to challenges posed by globalization and modernisation to the youths.

He added, “One of our goals for establishing this madrasah is to assist parents in teaching their children the Qur’an and Arabic education and ensure they commit it to memory.

“We also have many of our memorisers who have gained admission into various Universities home and abroad such as the reputable Al Azhar University, Egypt, Malaysia and even Turkiye.

According to Mallam Uthman, in addition to the Qur’an memorization classes being manned by Hufaadh (certified memorisers), the school has provisions for intensive Arabic studies with some other conventional subjects being handled by competent teachers.

Imam lauds graduands’ dedication

Corroborating, the Chief Imam of Ife land, Sheikh Abdul Samii Abdulhammed, lauded the graduates for their dedication, perseverance and tireless efforts in their journey towards the memorisation of Allah’s Divine Book.
