Abuja’s Art scene is set to embrace an extraordinary fusion of Islamic Art and thought as “The Art of Appreciation II: Alhamdulillah G’oma” opens its doors at the Orisun Art Gallery, Tropic Galleria. Running from Sunday, 6th October to Sunday, 13th October 2024, the exhibition will feature the works of artist Ridwan ADK-Osinowo, whose mastery in painting, mixed media, and wood routing offers a visual journey into the heart of Islamic spirituality.
The exhibition, inspired by the profound expression ‘Alhamdulillah’ (praise be to God), showcases Ridwan’s unique ability to weave elements of faith, gratitude, and creativity into his Art. From intricate woodwork to vibrant mixed-media pieces, each creation reflects the sacred and artistic traditions of Islam while engaging modern sensibilities.

A Gathering of Distinguished Leaders and Scholars
The grand opening ceremony, set for 2:00 pm on Sunday, 6th October, will be honored by Senator Arc. Mohammed Sanusi Daggash, former member of the Nigerian Senate. Among the esteemed guests are Mallam Mohammed Mustapha Bintube, Board Chairman of Jaiz Bank Plc, and Hajiya Hanatu Musa Musawa, Honourable Minister of Arts, Culture & Creative Economy, Abuja, as the Special Guests of Honour. The presence of these dignitaries emphasizes the exhibition’s significance in both the artistic and economic realms of Nigerian society.
The event will also be spiritually enriched by Sheikh Abdullahi Bala-Lau, National Chairman of Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa Iqamatus Sunnah (JIBWIS), whose role as Spiritual Father adds a layer of reverence to the occasion.

As part of the week-long exhibition, a ‘Corporate Hour with Halal Executives’ will take place on Wednesday, 9th October 2024, at 4:30 pm. Themed “Islamic Finance & Capital Market: A Potential Tool for Economic Rebirth in Developing Nations,”this session will be led by Mallam Attahiru Muhammed Maccido, Managing Director of One17 Capital Limited, Abuja. This exclusive event is strictly by invitation and is expected to foster discussions on the intersection of Islamic finance and economic development in Nigeria.
Time Out with Imams and Clerics
Following the corporate hour, a special event titled “Time Out with Imams and Clerics” will be held on Thursday, 10th October 2024, at 4:30 pm. In this session, Hidayet Bayraktar, the Ambassador of Turkey to Nigeria, will speak on “Islamic Art: A Potential Tool for Dawah, Turkish Model.” This event is also strictly by invitation and will provide a thoughtful exploration of how Islamic art can serve as a powerful tool for religious outreach and cultural exchange.
