Israeli genocide in Palestine: Only unity of Ummah and trust in Allah will give victory – Sheikh Yasir Qadhi tells Muslims

The US-based scholar, who is currently (Saturday) at the Eko Hotel, Lagos for his presentation, led thousands of Muslim congregants at the Lekki Central Mosque during the Juma'ah prayer.

Dr Qadhi’s Lekki Khutbah: Jannah is Allah’s gift, cannot be earned

A prominent global scholar, Dr. Yasir Qadhi, has urged Muslims to put their trust in Allah regarding the ordeals of the Palestinians.

He said no regional power or creature can be relied upon to ultimately achieve victory in the ongoing genocide in Gaza and other parts of Palestine except with Allah’s aid and the unity of the Ummah.

Dr. Yasir Qadhi made this assertion in the second part of his emotion-laden and thought-provoking Khutbah on Friday at the Lekki Central Mosque, Lagos Nigeria, where he was hosted ahead of a lecture he was billed to deliver at the 1Ummah Convention in Nigeria.

The US-based scholar, who is currently (Saturday) at the Eko Hotel, Lagos for his presentation, led thousands of Muslim congregants at the Lekki Central Mosque during the Juma’ah prayer.

He described the development in Palestine as one of the saddest tragedies that is currently happening to humanity.

Qadhi however said the reality has nudged Muslims to the Islamic principle of placing their trust and hope in Allah only.

“The reality of Gaza should open our eyes to the principle of Islam. Allah is the only one who can help us. What the reality of Gaza has shown is that we cannot rely on any created being. We cannot rely on any regional power. We cannot rely on any country.

“It’s Allah who is the Moalah, Allah who is the Rabb, Allah who is the Malik we should put our trust in Him.Don’t put your trust in any created entity, it’s Allah who gives izzah (power) and it’s He who will help. So, put your trust in Allah. Put your hope in Allah. Attach your relationship with Him,” he said.

He expressed hope that the end result of the event in Palestine would be positive rather than negative.

He said, “Allah mentions in the Qur’an that it’s possible, you don’t like something but it’s good for you. It’s possible you hate something and more good will come for you. We put our trust in Allah that whatever happens, the end result will always be positive.”

The respected preacher said people must however do what is in their capacity to support the Palestinian cause.

He said more attention is being drawn to the persecution of Palestinians with the effective use of the social media.

“The social media has changed the perception of so many people. Those media corporations, BBC, CNN, they try to lie, and misrepresent facts but with social media, such as Twitter, Tiktok, etc, those videos we share on them are influencing the next generation and survey shows that many Americans under the age of 30 now have positive understanding of Gaza against the state of Israel because most of them take their news online not established media.

“For the first time, there seems to be global discussion about Palestine and Gaza and we hope at the end, positive will come out of it.

“So, just because we put our trust in Allah doesn’t mean we should not do anything. Everyone of us has a responsibility. We must do whatever we are qualified to do and capable of doing, irrespective of the distance. Firstly, our hearts should be attached to our brothers and sisters in Palestine. We should feel the sense of unity, we should feel the attachment and the genuine love for them, because our Prophet said the Ummah is like one body, when a finger is in pain, the whole body will feel it.

“To feel the pains of brothers and sisters in Gaza is a sign of Iman. Not just Palestine, but the whole world. What is happening to our brothers in Uighur, Sudan, across the world. Anytime the Muslim community is affected, our hearts should be with them.

“When our hearts are attached to them, we raise our hands and pray for them. To make du’a is a sign of Iman. It shows you have feelings for them. Whatever charity we can do, we should do it. And it’s very easy these days through the social media, by sending messages via your channels about the reality of Gaza.”

Dr. Yasir similarly lauded the strong faith demonstrated by the people of Palestine in the face of the persecution, noting that it has actually driven more people to Islam, especially from the US where he comes from.

“The level of Imam shown by the people of Gaza despite being persecuted is great. Everyone, every right thinking human is on the side of Gaza. In the US where I come from, tens of thousands of people are embracing Islam because of it (the massacres).

“They are also studying Islam. Why? Because they are wondering, how would they explain the dignity of people of Gaza. Where does their strength come from? Where does the courage come from? They see their iman and they wondered where is it coming from? So they are studying Islam and eventually turn to Islam. This goes to tell us that when you truly believe in Allah, miracles can happen.”
