Khabane ‘Khaby’ Lame, the Senegalese-born influencer who is the most followed TikTok user in the world, recently performed Umrah at the Grand Mosque in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
Taking to Instagram, Khaby shared a photo and video of himself in an ihram, the garment worn by men to perform Umrah, in front of the Holy Kaaba.
Expressing his gratitude, Khaby stated, “I just want to say thank you to God. God has given me everything and, most importantly, the strength to continue and believe in my dreams.”
He further reflected on his personal journey on Saturday, adding, “I’ve faced many struggles in life, and when everything seemed impossible, my faith kept me standing.”
In a previous interview with an Italian media outlet, the 22-year-old social media star confirmed his faith, saying, “Yes, I am Muslim, a practising Muslim. I don’t know what else to say.”
Born in Senegal, Khaby Lame moved to Italy when he was just one year old. At the age of 14, he attended a Quranic school near Dakar, Senegal, where he dedicated himself to studying and memorizing the Quran, committing the entire holy book to his memory.
Khaby rose to global fame in 2022 when he became the most-followed content creator on TikTok. At the time, he had amassed 143.2 million followers.
Known for his signature silent, humorous videos that simplify overly complicated life hacks, Khaby’s content relies heavily on expressive facial gestures and deadpan humor. His unique style has earned him widespread popularity across diverse audiences worldwide.
