Ramadan: let’s embrace love, empathy, brotherhood and selflessness – Rep Laguda

As the fast of the glorious month of Ramadan commences, the Honourable Member representing Surulere 1 at the House of Representatives, Rep. Fuad Kayode Laguda (FKL), FCTI, has charged Muslims to embrace love, empathy, brotherhood and selflessness.

This was contained in a press release signed by Rep. Laguda while congratulating Muslims in Surulere, Lagos and the world for the commencement of the 2025 Ramadan.

According to the release, he said: “As the holy month of Ramadan begins, I extend my warmest wishes to Muslims in Surulere, Lagos and around the world.

“This sacred time is a powerful reminder of the importance of faith, family, and community and as we fast, pray, and reflect, may we emerge from this month with renewed spirits, compassion, and kindness.

“During Ramadan, Muslims fast from dawn to sunset, abstaining from food and drink to develop self-control, empathy, and devotion. This period of introspection and spiritual growth is a time for us to re-evaluate our values, strengthen our faith, and build stronger relationships with family, friends and our community.

“As we embark on this journey, let us strive to make a positive impact on those around us and spread love, empathy, peace, and harmony, and work towards building a more compassionate and just society”, he emphasized.
