– Set for grand Iftar on Friday
As the holy month of fasting nears its conclusion, Blackstone Islamic Foundation will on Friday, March 28 hold the grand finale of its 1446 AH/2025 Ramadan Iftar Outreach.
The nonprofit founded by Barr. Adam Adedimeji, Chairman of Lawyers in the Media (LIM), has been feeding fasting Muslims every Saturday and Sunday of the holy month, Muslim News gathered.
Lawyers in the Media is a forum under the auspices of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA-LIM).
The Ramadan Iftar Outreach is an annual programme of Blackstone Islamic Foundation which is now in its 15th edition this year.
The grand finale of the iftar scheduled to take place at Adeolu Adeosun, Akute will feature distribution of foodstuff to widows and other categories of underprivileged persons.
A lecture themed ‘Islamic teachings on importance of compassion, care and support for vulnerable people’ will also be delivered by Justice Abdullahi Adam Al-Ilory, Kadi, Shari’ah Court of Appeal, Abuja. Time is 4:30pm.
Blackstone Islamic Foundation offers assistance, care and support to indigent persons and families. Its programmes cut across health, education and economic empowerment.
The Executive Director (ED) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Barr. Adedimeji, is a former law editor and member of the editorial board of Daily Independent newspapers. He is a trained lawyer, journalist and certified Islamic scholar.
He runs the nonprofit with the support of his wife, Hajia Riskiah Adam-Adedimeji, who is a director at the Foundation, and daughter of Sheikh Hamzat Hussein Dahaq, the immediate past Mufty of Yorubaland under the League of Imams and Alfas in Yorubaland, and many other professionals.
Hajia Riskiah is also a Chartered Banker and a non-executive director of Springville Microfinance Bank. She retired some 2 years ago as Group Head, LOTUS Bank after 21 years of meritorious service at First Bank.
