Ibrahim Chatta preaches humility before Allah at Adua Movement’s Ramadan lecture

E-paper of Ibrahim Chatta

* Extols Alabi Pasuma’s modesty, generosity despite fame

* Says spending in the cause of Allah doesn’t decrease wealth

A renowned Nollywood actor and filmmaker, Ibrahim Chatta, says the vast worlds of humans, jinns, angels and other creatures will one day come to an end.

Chatta said only Allah (SWT) has no end. He stressed the need for human beings, irrespective of their status, to humble themselves before the Creator.

He made these statements at the 2025 Annual Ramadan Lecture organised by Adua Movement of Nigeria (AMON), founded by Alfa Semiu White, one of Alhaji Wasiu Alabi Pasuma’s spiritual leaders.

Muslim News gathered that the event  chaired by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Al-Hatyq Travels and Tours, Alhaji Dr. Mutiu Adewale Badmus, was held on Sunday, March 16, 2025 at Fayab Hotel & Suites, Alagbado, Lagos.

According to Chatta, “When you place the earth on the vast throne of Allah, Al-Kursiyy, it’s like placing a ring in a very large desert, absolutely insignificant.

Dr. Badmus

“The Kursiyy itself dwells the vast A’rsh, Allah’s royal chamber, as it rests on the weight of four angels whose brawn and might are beyond human imaginations.

“The Prophet (PBUH) made us understand that eight angels will bear its weight on the judgment day. Yet, Allah, in His might, says if He (Allah) wanted to sit, Al-A’rsh is not magnificent enough to occupy His might.”

Chatta, founder of Africhatta Film Village and Resort, said it is difficult to comprehend that humanity and the worlds of other creatures will come to an end.

Pasuma

“It is, therefore, pertinent that we humble ourselves before Allah, our Lord. Even Angel Jubril, the leader of angels and the one with immaculate spirit, humbles himself before Allah and his creatures,” he said.

The Yoruba movie star also commended Alhaji Wasiu Alabi (Pasuma) for his humility and generosity over the years, despite his fame.

He said spending in the cause of Allah does not make one go bankrupt as Pasuma’s life has shown.

“I’ve known Alhaji Pasuma for years, and we’ve been together on set. So, I can always attest to his magnanimity. Everyone must have learnt about his generosity in one way or another. So I would like to ask: “Has he gone bankrupt? Has he exhausted all his wealth?

Alfa Semiu White

“In essence, spending on noble causes doesn’t reduce wealth or makes one a pauper, and hoarding what you have can not make you rich overnight,” he stated.

Chatta called on Muslims to make charity a key part of their everyday lives.

“Smiling genuinely at your brother, removing harmful items or substances from pathways, connecting people with life changing opportunities, and other good deeds are all acts of charity,” he noted.

“Let’s serve Allah with all that we have. Let’s carry out noble deeds for His sake only, and let’s always pray to time because service to our Creator is non-negotiable,” he added.
