• Calls on Muslims to speak, write, mobilise for Palestinians’ freedom
The Muslim Public Affairs Centre (MPAC) has extended heartfelt greetings to the Muslim Ummah across the globe as Eid Al-Adha 1446 AH is celebrated.
The Muslim group said the occasion renews remembrance of the “timeless story of Prophet Ibrahim (AS).”
“It is a story of faith in its purest form, sacrifice in its highest expression, and submission to Allah in its most beautiful meaning,” MPAC said in its statement signed by Executive Chairman Disu Kamor.
The group noted that millions of pilgrims stood on the plains of Arafat during this year’s Hajj exercise, retracing the steps of Prophet Ibrahim and his noble family.
“In that moment, all distinctions of nation, race, and status are erased. What remains is unity – an Ummah bonded by Tawheed, humbled in ihram, and elevated by purpose,” it added.
MPAC again drew attention to the plights of Palestinians in the hands of the occupationist Israeli regime, calling on Muslims to seize the Eid period to write, speak, and mobilise for the freedom of the people of Gaza.
“We cannot rejoice without remembering the people of Palestine, especially our brothers and sisters in Gaza, who are enduring a genocide in plain sight,” the group stated, adding that over 50,000 Palestinians in Gaza, majority of whom are women and children have been killed since October 2023.
“Their hospitals have been shelled, buildings reduced to rubble, and universities flattened. Their access to water, food, and medicine has been cut off. In the face of this slow-motion ethnic cleansing, the world watches, most especially the Arab world- some in silence, others in complicity,” the statement said.
“And yet, in the ashes of this historic injustice, the Palestinians continue to rise – with faith that humbles the mighty and resilience that defies the oppressor. We honour their sacrifice. We echo their prayers.
“We urge every Muslim to make this Eid not only a time of du’a for Palestine, but of strategic action: speak, write, donate, and mobilise until justice rolls down like water, and the occupation ends.”
MPAC also said it recognises that many Nigerian Muslims are marking the Eid amid widespread economic hardship and growing uncertainty.
“We pray that these blessed days bring divine relief, barakah, and renewed hope into every home.”
The group said Eid al-Adha is not only a festival, but also a call.
“It is a call to surrender. A call to sacrifice. A call to serve. Let us heed it by sharing our blessings, comforting the afflicted, and recommitting to the work of building a society rooted in compassion, justice, and God-consciousness,” it stated.
MPAC similarly prayed for the safe return of the over 40,000 Nigerian pilgrims participating in the 2025 Hajj.
“May their pilgrimage be accepted, and may its light touch their homes, our communities, and this nation.”
