Reprieve has come the way of intending pilgrims from Nigeria and across the world who are yet to be airlifted to Saudi Arabia as the kingdom has extended the closure of its airspace till Thursday, July 7, 2022.
The extension, the second time in a few days, was announced by the Saudi Arabia General Authority on Civil Aviation (GACA), the agency responsible for regulation of air transport services in the Kingdom.
Muslim News learnt that the development came after a high level discussion between Saudi Arabia and Nigeria, which was led by the Chairman/CEO of National Hajj Commission of Nigeria NAHCON, Alhaji Zikrullah Hassan.
With this new development, the two Nigerian airlines, Max Air and Azman airline would continue their airlifting operation from where they left off.
Meanwhile, the Commission has concluded arrangement with Flynas to operate three (3) rescue flights for pilgrims in Kano and Abuja.
No fewer than three thousand Nigerian pilgrims are expected to be airlifted on or before Thursday, July 7, before the Hajj rites commence fully
