With just four days remaining, the University of Lagos Muslim Alumni (UMA) is set to hold its 36th Annual General Meeting and Congress on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at the Islamic Centre of the University Mosque, Akoka-Yaba, Lagos.
Muslim News gathered that this year’s event will focus on personal development and professional growth.
In a statement signed by the National President, Dr. Mumini Alao, UMA extended an open invitation to all Muslim graduates of the University of Lagos, including holders of diplomas, certificates, degrees, and postgraduate qualifications from both full-time and part-time programmes.
This year’s congress will host two impactful keynote sessions. Dr. Ahmed Tunde Popoola, MD/CEO of CRC Credit Bureau, will speak on “Retirement Planning for Senior Professionals and Young Graduates”, while, Hajia Shareefah Abiola Andu, MD of Arabel, will deliver a talk on *“Entrepreneurship Opportunities in Current Government Policies for Young Graduates.”
Attendees will also benefit from a health awareness session, mentorship opportunities, and access to new UMA programmes.
In addition to reviewing the association’s activities over the past year, the event will serve as a platform for networking, business idea exchange, and community building among members.
Dr. Alao expressed optimism for a high turnout, encouraging all eligible alumni to take advantage of the gathering to reconnect, learn, and grow both spiritually and professionally.
