The Nigerian Muslim community has been thrown into mourning following the passing of one of its most revered scholars, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, who returned to Allah at the age of 98.
As Islam teaches, every soul shall taste death, and today, the Ummah bids farewell to a spiritual giant whose life was devoted to the propagation of Islam and the teachings of the Tijaniyyah Sufi order.
Known for his deep scholarship, unwavering humility, and decades of service to the faith, Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi’s death marks the end of an era.
His son, Sayyadi Ali Dahiru Usman Bauchi, confirmed the passing in a phone call with Daily Trust, saying, “It is confirmed, Sheikh has returned to his creator. We are all from Allah and to Him we shall all return. It is time for Sheikh to rest. We thank Almighty Allah. His life was well spent. Alhamdulillah.”
Sayyadi, who spoke from Madinah, said burial arrangements are yet to be finalized, noting that the Sheikh may be buried either in Abuja or Bauchi.
