President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday joined hundreds of Muslim faithful to observe the Eid al-Fitr prayers at the Dodan Barracks prayer ground in Ikoyi, Lagos.
The President’s participation marked a significant highlight of the celebrations following the conclusion of the holy month of Ramadan.
He was accompanied by Babajide Sanwo-Olu, alongside other top government officials and aides.
Having arrived in Lagos ahead of the festivities, President Tinubu is expected to host members of the Muslim community and key stakeholders as part of his Eid engagements.

In his Sallah message, President Tinubu urged the Muslim Ummah to embody the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), stressing that the values of discipline, sacrifice, and self-restraint observed during Ramadan should be sustained beyond the fasting period to promote national unity.
Call for Compassion and Social Equity
The President also emphasised the importance of supporting the less privileged, calling on citizens to show compassion and extend care to vulnerable members of society.
He noted that acts of kindness and social responsibility are essential, particularly in challenging economic times.
As the Eid celebrations continue, the Presidency is expected to release further updates on the President’s meetings with religious, traditional, and political leaders during his stay in the nation’s commercial capital.
