Ansar-Ud-Deen Society condoles with families of Ondo Air Force crash victims

The Society condoled with the families of 25 people killed after a Nigerian Air Force ATR-42 aircraft crashed in the Igbokoda area of Ondo State during a routine mission.

The Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria and Overseas has condoled with the families of victims of the Nigerian Air Force aircraft crash in Ondo State, describing the incident as a painful loss to the nation.

The Society’s National President, Prince Mosediq Adeniji Kazeem, SAN, FCArb, conveyed the condolences on behalf of the National Executive Council and the entire Ansar-Ud-Deen family.

The Nigerian Air Force ATR-42 aircraft, identified as NAF 931, crashed on Monday in the Igbokoda area of Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State while conducting a routine mission from Benin to Lagos.

The Nigerian Air Force subsequently confirmed that 25 people were on board, comprising five crew members and 20 passengers, and that no survivors had been found. The Service also released the names of those who died in the crash.

President Bola Tinubu has ordered a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

He also expressed condolences to the families of the victims and commended the Nigerian Air Force and other first responders involved in the search and rescue operation.

Ansar-Ud-Deen mourns victims

In its condolence message, the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society expressed profound sorrow over the tragedy, saying it was particularly distressing at a time when members of the Nigerian Armed Forces continue to make sacrifices in the service of the country.

The Society commiserated with the families of the deceased, their colleagues and loved ones, as well as the leadership and personnel of the Nigerian Air Force and the wider Armed Forces.

“We are deeply saddened by this tragic incident. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families who have lost their loved ones and with the Nigerian Air Force at this difficult time,” Kazeem said.

“We pray that Almighty Allah grants the departed eternal rest and gives their families the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.”

The Society also paid tribute to members of the Armed Forces for their courage, patriotism and sacrifices in defending and securing Nigeria.

It said the service and sacrifices of the men and women in uniform would continue to be remembered and appreciated.

Calls for prayers, thorough investigation

The Ansar-Ud-Deen Society called on Nigerians to pray for the nation and for all those involved in the recovery and investigation efforts following the crash.

It expressed confidence that the relevant authorities would conduct a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident and take appropriate measures to prevent a recurrence.

The Society also prayed for Allah’s forgiveness and mercy for the deceased, asking Him to grant them Al-Jannatul Firdaus, comfort their families and protect Nigeria from further tragedies.

“Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un,” the Society said.
