It is an undisputed fact that the Nigerian media, like their counterparts in the West, have been unfair to Islam and Muslims.
Many examples of their bias abound, and many Muslim analysts attributed such principally to their pathological hatred for Muslims and Islam – the only religion growing faster than the world’s population.
In the last few years, RawshieldPR Media’s findings have shown, for instance, that the Islamic New Year, otherwise known as the Hijrah, has been grossly under-reported in the Nigerian Christian-dominated mainstream media, unlike the Christian Christmas and New Year festivals.
We are not surprised, though we expected objectivity from those who have always championed professionalism and ethical conduct. At RawshieldPR Media, we talk less and act more, and always with facts; and we walk the talk, based on our understanding that: “If you don’t blow your trumpet, your enemies will not blow it for you”.
As such, we are proud to present to the Nigerian Muslim Community the Hijrah 1440 edition of Muslim News – with other interesting, well-researched and thoroughly investigated stories that go beyond speculative and subjective journalism, which is the hallmark of some sections of the Nigerian media.
Specifically, this edition focuses on the uniqueness of the Hijrah lunar calendar over the solar and defective Julian calendar which metamorphosed into the present day Gregorian calendar.
This Hijrah edition of Muslim News also serves as a mouthpiece for the actualisation of the Hijrah public holiday from the Federal Government, a demand which is based on fairness, with scholarly explanations on why it is important for the Muslim New Year to be remembered and not celebrated.
AlhamduliLlah, we are pleased to inform you that Muslim News is the only newspaper (as far as we know) that will not downplay the heroic feats of Muslim achievers (such as the Hijab heroine, Barrister Firdaus Amasa and Imam Abdullahi Abubakar) on the basis of their religion, Islam.
This is the only newspaper that gave the Nigerian pilgrims at the just concluded Hajj exercise the voice to relate their experiences, among other laudable achievements.
On behalf of the management of RawshieldPR Media, we present to you the COVER of the latest edition of Muslim News, print version, which is ready to go into circulation across 6 States, Lagos inclusive, from tomorrow – Sunday, September 8.
The 12-page newspaper is now available for sale. A copy goes for N100 and at the moment, you can get your copies from our sales representatives.

Muslim News, a publication of Rawshield PR Media, is a mouthpiece for underreported Muslim achievers and events in Nigeria and across the world, which are never given prominence in the mainstream media.
Our Mission:
To give special media attention and coverage to important people and events in the life of Muslims that do not gain mainstream media attention, and to change the media narrative of blaming Islam and Muslims for offences committed in its lofty name.
Editorial Policy: We shall be fair to all persons, irrespective of their religions and ideologies, as long as that promotes the image of Islam and unites the Muslims. We shall also uphold the ethical standards of journalism, as allowed by Islamic ethics..
