Ansar-Ud-Deen set for 9th National Conference in Abuja

+ Details of the 5-day gathering

All is set as Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, a foremost Nigerian Islamic organisation, holds the 9th edition of her National Triennial Conference, which would centre on ‘Justice, Equity and Peaceful Co-existence: Ideals and Realities in a Multi-Religious Nigeria.’

The body, known for its strides in spiritual development and peaceful coexistence in the Nigerian society and across the globe, would converge at the International Conference Centre, Abuja for the 5-day programme, which runs from the 18th to the 22nd of April, 2019.

The Sultan of Sokoto and President, Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar lll; Emir of Kano, His Royal Highness Muhammad Sanusi ll, and dignitaries from within and outside the country will be at the event, which promises to be lifechanging and development-driven.

The conference, the organisers said, would feature visitations to the Presidency, the Sultan of Sokoto and the FCT Minister.

According to a press statement by the National Publicity Secretary of the Society, Alhaji Rahmon Salaudeen, the Keynote Address will be delivered by the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi, while the programme will also feature a Press Conference, a Merit Award Ceremony, a Conference of Delegates and election of new officers who would pilot the affairs of the society at the National level.

“This would be followed with courtesy visits to the Sultan of Sokoto, the FCT Minister and the Presidency. The day’s event will terminate with a Presidential Cocktail in the evening,” according to the press statement.

Furthermore, “The conference will be formally declared open on Friday, 19th April at the International Conference Centre, with the Keynote Lecture to be delivered by the Emir of Kano; His Royal Highness, Muhammadu Sanusi II, CFR. Other important dignitaries have been invited, including but not limited to HRH, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, the Sultan of Sokoto and President Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs.

“There will be a slight interlude to accommodate the Jumat Service, after which the programme will resume for Thanksgiving among the Society’s subsidiaries in the late afternoon. There would also be a Merit Award ceremony on Saturday 20th April, 2019 for deserving members of the Society and other well-meaning Nigerians who have in their various capacities contributed to the advancement of Islam and humanity through Ansar-Ud-Deen Society.

The event is scheduled to hold at the International Conference Centre, Abuja on Saturday 20th April, 2019.

“The Conference of Delegates is scheduled for the same venue on Sunday 21st April, 2019, where germane issues affecting the Society and her members will be debated in order to generate policy decisions and improved operations.

“The conference will then culminate in the election of new officers who will pilot the affairs of the Society at the National level for the next three years,” Alhaji Salaudeen said.

The society reaffirmed its commitment to the continued contribution of her quota to national development through spiritual and educational activities, among others.
