The difficulties and concerns that parents face in raising their children will be the thrust of this year’s symposium of The Professionals, an organ of Al-Mu’minaat (The Believing Women Organisation).
Slated for Sunday, July 21, 2019 at the Lagos State House of Assembly Mosque, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria, the symposium will feature enriching presentations from renowned experts on the theme “Parenting: My Child and I”.

The event, which is slated for 10am prompt, would also feature free medical tests and counselling sessions. Registration fee for participants is one thousand naira (N1000).
Organisers told Muslim News that the theme of the event is borne out of the degraded and disheartening situation of parenthood in the Nigerian society.
The Coordinator of The Professionals, Alhaja Jelilah AbdulHamid said, “Going by the theme of this year’s symposium, it is directed at correcting the menace and evils caused by this decadence.
“Parents are less informed of their roles and responsibilities over their children, who are indisputably our future and that of our society. The effects of this negligence and being uninformed call for serious and adequate attention in addressing the evil bound to be festered by this.
“The Professionals is of the view that attending this programme is a step towards ensuring proper and responsible parenting in the society, which would ensure the safety, security, sanity and progress of our society,” she added.
