The joy of the President of The Muslim Congress (TMC), Dr Lukman AbdurRaheem and his wife, Hajia Basirah knew no bounds as their first child, Fatimah Mayowa was among the new students matriculated yesterday, Monday, at the American University of Nigeria, Yola, Adamawa state, for the 2019 academic session.
Fatimah, the 17 year old daughter of the Amir of one of Nigeria’s leading faith-based organisation gained admission into the University to study Communications & Media Design (CMD), a four year course expected to run through to 2023.
The elated father, who is also a lecturer and assistant professor of Entrepreneurship in the same University couldn’t hide his excitement as he shared the good news on social media.
“Today, 2nd of September 2019, my daughter had her matriculation/pledge ceremony at the American University of Nigeria. She has been admitted to study Communications & Media Design (CMD). I pray for her success, long life, Iman, Sakinah and Najat. Alhamdulillahi.”
Fatimah is an alumnus of the renowned institute of learning, Vanguards Academy, Ijebu, Ogun State which has over the years produced over 1000 students who fare excellently in their various academic fields.
When Muslim News interacted with the matriculant, she was short of words and optimistic of a brighter future with the challenges ahead.
“Alhamdulilah, I’m very happy today” she noted, “though, the path has not been smooth and easy but I give thanks to Allah.
This is just a step closer to the goal I have set but I know the path won’t be an easy one. With Allah, I know I would succeed and come out in flying colours.”
