…Dr Hamzat, Akinbile-Yussuf, Lagos Imam, Others to attend
The Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir Ahmed El-Rufai will on Sunday be in Lagos as one of the special guests of honour at the disbursement ceremony of a whooping N325 million to over 2,647 beneficiaries from across the country at the grand finale of the 2019 Zakat and Sadaqat Foundation (ZSF) distribution exercise.
The Zakat distribution ceremony, 15th edition of the annual event, will hold at the Auditorium of the Alausa Secretariat Mosque, Ikeja, Lagos.
Other prominent personalities expected to grace the disbursement of the Zakat funds to the needy and vulnerable include His Excellency, the Deputy Governor of Lagos state, Dr Obafemi Hamzat; the Chief Imam of Lagos State, Shiekh Sulaiman Abou-Nolla; Honourable Commissioner for Home Affairs, Mrs Uzamat Akinbile-Yusuf and her predecessor, immediate past Home Affairs’ Commissioner, Dr AbdulHakeem AbdulLateef.
The Foundation disclosed this in a statement signed by its Operations Manager, Alhaji Ahmed Ma’aruf, a copy of which was made available to Muslim News on Friday.
Alhaji Ma’aruf said the sum of N325 million would be disbursed to over 2,647 beneficiaries across 21 states of the country.
According to him, “this Sunday’s distribution in Lagos State will be the culmination of this year’s Zakat distribution exercise which commenced in June and has been carried out across the ccountry.
“Benefitting states increased from 17 in 2018 to 21 during this year’s distribution.”
He pledged that other states would be captured in subsequent years’ edition.
The statement also revealed that other dignitaries expected include the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Timeline Consult and ZSF Advisory Board member, Mr Shuaib Idris and Chairman, Alausa Secretariat Mosque Committee, Dr Tajudeen Afolabi.
