Ansar-ud-Deen Lagos Council launches N100m Fund Raising for Secretariat Project

The Lagos State Council of Ansar-Ud-Deen Society Of Nigeria has launched a N100 million fund rising project for the construction of a befitting Secretariat to carry out its activities.

Speaking at the Fund Raising ceremony held in Lagos, the council chairman, Alhaji Abdul Rahman Salaudeen said the project, a 2 storey building will comprise of a library, recreation centre, ICT lab, stores, Islamic centres etc.

He told the participants that the council, founded 40 years ago with 30 well-established active branches, has no functional Secretariat of its own despite achieving enormous successes in Islamic da’wah in Nigeria.

Okuleye (Vice President ADS) at the N100 million Fund Raising event for the proposed council Secretariat Project held at the Civic Center, Victoria Island, Lagos.

According to him, “It is sad that the council with 30 active branches and more than 2.1 million members across Lagos, currently makes use of one of its Branches’ premises situated at Ebute-Metta, an arrangement considered ridiculing of the famous Islamic organisation” .

“We have paid heavily to hire conference halls and event centres in our bid to organize seminars, anniversaries, ceremonies and programmes. We usually make special arrangements to receive personnel and key personalities from corporate institutions and entities, hence, this undertaking came about,” he added.

He said the project, which was expected to be completed and delivered within 24 months of its commencement, has been developed to the lintel level of the first floor, awaiting the casting of the second floor concrete slab.

“Though it is a two- storey building project, we believe the feat is achievable within the time frame with your support. So, we rely on your assistance and generosity to help build the Secretariat both structurally and spiritually”.

“We mostly welcome and appreciate material donations and of course, an undertaking to finance a certain stage of the project; not necessarily cash,” he added.
