The Director, Advocacy and Engagement of the Northern Elders Forum (NEF), Dr Hakeem Baba-Ahmed has expressed sadness over the return of the Big Brother Naija Show, noting that the popular reality TV show pollutes the moral standards of the country.
Baba-Ahmed, Chief of Staff to former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, on Monday, voiced his view via his Twitter handle @baba_hakeem, less than 24 hours after the organisers officially declared the show open, with the unveiling of 20 housemates.
In his tweet, Dr Baba-Ahmed noted that “I will be dishonest if I do not say how sad I feel at the return of a TV show that sends billions of Naira from us to other countries, pollutes our already damaged moral standards, deepens addiction and generally keeps millions of people from spending their time better. Am I alone?”

Meanwhile, Muslim News findings revealed that, apart from Dr Baba-Ahmed, many people have also condemned the TV show, saying that it promotes immorality and decadence in the society.
They decried the display of nudity, sensual contents and vulgarity that comes with the show, noting that it has the tendency of corrupting the minds of younger ones and adults in the society.

“It is an avenue to make fast money without meritorious cause and a perverse drama costumed with the facade called ‘entertainment’.”
