Social media users chide actor, Ninalowo on leaving Islam, say changing faith doesn’t translate to the end of travails in life

Netizens have lashed out at Nollywood actor, Bolanle Ninalowo over his comment that he reverted to Christianity from Islam because he “ran into trouble and couldn’t be saved by his parents and family members who were Muslims.”

Ninalowo had earlier revealed in an Instagram Live session with Mr. Porsche that he was born into a staunch Muslim home as Azeez but his belief changed after what he called “a bad experience”.

The Nollywood hunk also said he doesn’t have passion for church yet he believes in God and the power of the Holy Bible.

He said, “Although, I have only gone to church once in my entire life, I read the bible a lot.”

Reacting to his disclosure however, a social media user, Hassan Mahmoud said changing his faith does not translate to the end of his travails in life, noting that all human beings are tested from time to time.

Why I converted from Islam to Christianity – Actor, Bolanle Ninalowo https://t.co/C9LvU2qcyt

According to him, “There is no problem beyond God. Lack of faith and knowledge of lslam were responsible for your undisclosed predicament and inability to solve them. God created human and says they will be tested to determine their faith in Him.

“All prophets of God were tested and they remained resolute in their faith and God. I can assure you that changing to Christianity does not stop you from being tested or confronted with bigger challenges in future. You are born into a Muslim family, but you’re never a Muslim in the real sense of it. God is great!”

Another user, Ade, asked Ninalowo if his life has been without hitches since he allegedly left Islam, saying no one was ever promised a smooth cruise on earth, be you a Muslim, Christian or otherwise.

According to him, “Allah’s aid is sought. I pray that the Controller of hearts, Allah, guides you aright. One is not only in his religion to get “help”. In this case, Islam is about total submission to Allah in belief and actions. No one was ever promised a smooth cruise on the earth, be you a Muslim, Christian or otherwise. If I may ask, has your life been smooth without hitches since leaving Islam? That’s a point of introspection for you.

“From your message, one may conclude that religion was never the issue but your conviction. All said, no matter how much we love you and wish to see you guided, Allah is the only one that guides whoever He wishes. There is no compulsion in religion, that must be emphasized. Our best wishes are with you and it is our prayer that your heart is opened to the truth soonest. Much love from your true brethren in Islam.”

Also passing his comment, a social media user who identifies by the name, Sola queried if actor Ninolowo was practising Islam in order to get assistance from people or worship God, adding that Islam is to submit to Allah both in times of ease and difficulty.

“He was born to a Muslim family. But he didn’t know anything about Islam. He was troubled and his family could not assist him. This means he was a Muslim only to get assistance or help from his family or people. And, since he could not get this assistance, he discarded Islam.

“Islam is to submit to God only in belief and action; in times of ease and difficulty. Anyway, he is an actor. There are many episodes in the Bible he would act. However, he should know that he did not create himself. He was created by God. It is better for him to believe in the true God, worship him and do good deeds before it is too late.

“The Bible he is depending on, is a book full of confusions and contradictions. That explains why many people who are far better than him in knowledge and understanding are abandoning the confused scripture called Bible to a true and Everlasting Testament – the Qur’an,” he said.

There is no compulsion in religion. The right path is clear from the wayward path.
Allah is the One Who guides to the True Path (Islam). Whomever Allah guides, none can misguide him; and whomever Allah misguides, none can guide.
