TMC holds Webinar on Islamic Perspective on Disease and Medication

The Lagos State Chapter of a leading faith-based organisation in Nigeria, The Muslim Congress (TMC), has concluded plans to organize a Webinar on Sunday, July 26, 2020.

The Webinar, which is in response to the changing landscape of the COVID-19 pandemic, is on the theme, “Disease and Medication: The Islamic Perspective”.

Muslim News also learnt that the lecture would commence by 4:30 pm Nigerian time.

According to a release from the organisation, “The web-based lecture is to hold as an improvised edition of the State Public Lecture which holds every quarter.

“The State Public Lecture is one of the public mediums used by The Congress to address socio-political-cum-spiritual matters. The Congress, over the years, has brought contemporary issues under public spotlight through its quarterly open air lectures in as many communities across the State.”

Muslim News also gathered that the guest speaker for the event is Imam Hamid Aderemi Yusuf, Chief Imam, Fidiso Estate Central Mosque, Ibeju Lekki, Lagos.

An erudite scholar, Imam Yusuf is to provide the Islamic standpoint on how to overcome the dangers of contagion and diseases in general.

Speaking ahead of the event, The Waali (Head) of TMC, Lagos, Alhaji Mikail Orioolowo Animashaun, maintained that the growing concerns about the novel Coronavirus and the impact of the rapidly shifting news cycles on daily lives has made it important to provide valuable and relevant guidance to the people as the crisis evolves.

Meanwhile, the presentation is expected to be graced by dignitaries such as Alhaji Adegboyega Bashir Bello, CEO, SkyWide Limited; Sheikh Seifududeen Ademoritan Olowooribi, Chief Imam, Ikorodu Division and many other prominent figures in Lagos State.
