The National Amir (Head) of The Muslim Congress (TMC), Dr Lukman AbdurRaheem has been appointed as International Partner (Nigeria) on the board of World Business Angels Investment Forum (WBAF).
The appointment was made known in a letter dated July 11, signed by Christina McGimpsey, Secretary General, World Business Angels Investment Forum.
It reads:
“YOUR APPOINTMENT AS AN INTERNATIONAL PARTNER FOR NIGERIA
Dear Lukman Raimi,
On behalf of the World Business Angels Investment Forum (WBAF), it is my great pleasure to inform you that the WBAF Board has unanimously approved you as an International Partner to represent Nigeria in the Global Startup Committee of the World Business Angels Investment Forum. Congratulations!

AbdurRaheem, who is also an Assistant Professor with American University of Nigeria (AUN), Yola, will consequently upon this appointment, attend the WBAF Annual Congress and take active part in WBAF committees.
He will also be active in daily communication via the WBAF WhatsApp group and follow daily events and keep relevant parties informed.
Muslim News findings show that the WBAF is an organisation that seeks to honour individuals who have clearly demonstrated their commitment to furthering early-stage investment markets by conferring them with the title and role of ‘WBAF International Partner’.
According to a report about the organisation on its official website, “The World Business Angels Investment Forum is committed to collaborating globally to empower the economic development of the world by fostering innovative financial instruments for startups, scaleups, innovators, entrepreneurs and SMEs and to promoting gender equality and women’s participation in all sectors of the world economy.
“The Forum interacts with leaders in all areas of society, first and foremost in business and political spheres, to help assess needs and establish goals, bearing in mind that the public interest is of paramount importance. We engage with a wide range of institutions – public and private, local and international, commercial and academic – to help shape the global agenda.”
WBAF is also an affiliated partner of the G20 Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion.
The reputable don has held several positions and titles, including being the Assistant Director, AUN Centre for Entrepreneurship, Nigeria.
