Saturday, July 4, 2020 (Yaomas-Sabt, Dhul-Qadah 12, 1441 AH) will forever remain a memorable day for the family of Alhaji Isa Akosile, former Editor of the defunct New Nigerian Newspapers, as they gave out their beautiful daughter, Aisha Damilola, in marriage to Alhaji AbdulHakeem Akinade Adejumo, the proprietor of one of Nigeria’s leading bread producers, Fortunate Bread.
Amidst compliance with the COVID-19 guidelines, the colourful nuptial was held at a blissful but lowkey event with just few members of the two families present at the Bride’s father, Alhaji Akosile’s residence located at Awawu Adenike Close, Tanke, Ilorin, Kwara State.
The nikkah ceremony – jointly coordinated by The Muslim Congress (TMC) and Al-Mu’minaat, The Believing Women Organisation, Kwara State chapter, was attended by prominent Members of the Academia and Islamic Scholars, including loved ones within and outside the State.
Highlights of the colourful nuptial was the marriage proposal by the groom to the bride’s family seeking their lovely daughter, Aisha Damilola’s hand in marriage as his second wife.

With unreserved rhapsodic mood, the bride’s family accepted the proposal of the Alhaji Adejumo’s family, as the bride, Aisha Damilola also accepted to be the second wife of Alhaji AbdulHakeem Akinade Adejumo.
Solemnisation
The wedding was solemnized by the Da’wah Affairs Unit of TMC in the State, represented by Ustaz Mustapha Agaka, on a bride price of fifty thousand naira, with the complete volume of Sahih-ul-Bukhari, which was handed over to the bride in the presence of all invited guests who also attested as witnesses to the marriage.
In his sermon, the clergyman, Ustaz Agaka admonished the groom to try, as a husband, now to two wives, to the best of his ability in line with laid down rules in the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet (SAW).

Ustaz Agaka charged the new wife, Aisha, to see herself as a virtuous woman brought up on the principles of Islamic heritage, saying, “Shun all acts that will affect your marital life/home and respect your husband, the first wife and your husband’s family, friends and associates both far and near.”
The bride speaks with MN
The elated bride, was full of ecstasy as she spoke with Muslim News Islamtainment. According to her, “My joy knows no bound as I fulfil part of my dreams and 50 per cent of my Deen. I pray and hope that Allah will assist me and my husband to fulfil the remaining half.

“I appreciate my parents, siblings, uncles, aunties and other relatives for bringing me up and making me proud today. My prayers to them all is Jazakumullahu Kharan fi duniya wal Aakhirah”, she added.

The groom appreciates…
While appreciating all, the groom, Alhaji AbdulHakeem Akinade Adejumo thanked Allah for making the day come to pass and appreciated all for their presence and commitment to the success of the Marriage. Shukran! Shukran!! Shukran!

…Groom’s first wife
In her reaction, the groom’s first wife, Hajia Adejumo, disclosed her full support and acceptance of the solemnization of matrimony, promising to accommodate the new wife and considered them as one.

She prayed that her coming to the family of Adejumo brings more blessing and happiness to their husband and the entire family.
The bride’s father….
In his remarks, the bride’s father, Alhaji Akosile thanked Allah for giving him the opportunity and the grace to perform one of his duties as a father, praying that Allah should be with the couple and other members of Alhaji Abdulhakeem Akinade Adejumo’s family.
Bride’s mother joy…
To the mother of the bride, Hajia Zubaydah Daramola Akosile, who was full of joy and a personal sense of fulfilment as well as appreciation to Allah, disclosed that the marriage is built on her fulfilling of Allah’s commandment on her children, adding that, for her (Aisha) not to fall into ambiguity, prompted her to give her out in marriage and not for fame or wealth.

She appreciated all family members and prayed that Allah should reward everyone abundantly for their support and steadfastness, praying that Allah will put His Mawaddah and Rahmah in the union.
“The families of Akosile and Adejumo expressed their gratitude to attendees for gracing the Aqdu-n-Nikaah between Aisha and AbdulHakeem. May Allah (SWT) not deny you the reward”, she prayed.

Goodwill….
In his goodwill message, the North Central Coordinator, Muslim Media Practitioners of Nigeria (MMPN), Mallam Mustafa Abubakar (Abu Mustafa) congratulated the newly wedded couple and their families, praying to Allah to bless the union with children that will be the coolness of their eyes.
Abu Mustafa, who is also the Vice-Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kwara State Council said, “Allah has already completed the journey for Aisha and He shall lead her to the end, by His Grace. I pray He will not make her journey a ‘mirage’.

“I strongly believe that, by Allah, she will succeed more than you, her parents because she’s well brought up and nurtured. She has in you, her father, and her mum and step mum, grandma, an example to follow. We shall continue to pray more for her and others as usual”.
And to Aisha Damilola, he said, “You should always look back and view the home that made what Alhaji AdbulHakeem and the first wife admired in you to accept you as a wife. I pray that Barakallahu fi kumah wa Barakallahu alaykuma wa jamaa baynakuma fil khayr. Amin”.
