Malaysia Foundation celebrates Eid-al-Adha in Nigeria, shares slaughtered cows with 20,000 families

A Malaysia Foundation, Yayasan Budi Ihsan Malaysia marked the 2020 Eid-al-Adha celebration in Nigeria by distributing beef to hundreds of beneficiaries in Lagos and Osun States as Sallah packages in the spirit of solidarity and love.

Tagged, ‘Kembara Qurban 1001 Asnaf’, the gesture was founded with the motive of assisting the poor and vulnerable among Muslims in Africa.

Muslim News learnt that the gesture was also aimed at spreading the message of philanthropy as taught by Islam to non-Muslims who also benefitted from the distribution.

This medium gathered that the distribution of beef during Eid-ul-Kabir is just one of the numerous activities of the foundation.

The Foundation has Coordinators spread across the different regions of Nigeria who chart the distribution procedures for target beneficiaries.

For this year, a total of 500 Eid-ul-Adha cows were slaughtered by the Foundation, with no fewer than 20,000 beneficiaries across Nigeria.

Muslim News learnt that Taraba alone got over 300 cows due to the large numbers of beneficiaries while Lagos and Osun States recieved 12 cows, which was shared among 400 beneficiaries.

Ustadh Mansur Zakariyyah, representative of the Foundation in Nigeria confirmed the development while speaking with Muslim News.

According to him, no fewer than 400 indigent persons benefitted from the humanitarian service in Lagos and Osun States. The cities are Ijeshatedo and Ikeja, in Lagos and Ilesha, Ile-Ife, Osogbo, Ikirun, in Osun State. The distribution was done in strict compliance with the COVID-19 lockdown rules.

Ustadh Zakariyyah also noted that the Foundation usually sends its representatives to Nigeria to monitor the process, adding that the emergence of Coronavirus and the ban on international flight prevented them from coming to celebrate with us in Nigeria during this year’s Eid-ul-Adha.

Ustadh Zakariyyah appreciated the government’s effort in fighting the pandemic, urging them to support the Foundation by providing security in the cause of slaughtering and distribution across the States.
