Jigawa State Government has declared a public holiday in the state on Thursday 20 August 2020 to mark the beginning of the Islamic New Year, 1442 After Hijrah (AH)
This was contained in a statement which was issued to us by the Public Relations Officer, Head of Civil Service, Ismaila Ibrahim Dutse.
The statement said the Governor congratulated faithful Muslims in the state and around the world for witnessing the New Year, which begins the first in the Lunar Islamic Calendar in the month of Muharram.
However, he urged the People of the State to reflect and live their lives on the basis of Islamic teachings and Prophet Muhammad (SAW) practice.
Badaru urged all Public Servants and the entire people of the state to pray to God for continued protection and guidance, peace, and the economic prosperity of the state and Nigeria.
