Standard Bearers (SB) closes registration for Iqraa Challenge, reveals next stages

Standard Bearers Islamic Organisation, Ile-Ife Chapter has officially announced the closure of registration for the 2021 Iqraa Challenge.

The registration was declared opened on January 20, 2021 for students in Higher Institutions and Madrasahs (Islamic schools), specifically in three southwest states namely; Osun, Ondo and Ekiti.

Muslim News findings revealed that the competition, in its maiden edition, was created by one of Nigeria’s leading Islamic organisations for the purpose of reviving the reading culture among students.

In a press statement, the Programmes Coordinator, Mr. Luqman Isa said the organisation wishes to inform the general public that the registration for the Competition has closed on Saturday, March 20th at 11:59pm.

According to him, “It’s noteworthy to remember that the Iqraa Challenge has 3 assignments — writing a term paper on the topic: Education, Financial Independence and Poverty Reduction: Any relationship?; reading the book Fiqh Awlawiyyat by Dr Yusuf Qaradawi and memorising surah Nahl vs 119-128

“All the entries will be graded based on specific criteria set up by the organisers. Judges have been picked across different fields and participants are promised fair assessment and grading.

“By March 27, we shall reveal more information on what the Iqraa Challenge is all about. The panelists are expected to release the list of the best 5 participants by April 3, with the final list of the awardees being released on April 11, 2021,” he added.

Mr. Isa expressed appreciation to participants and all those who showed interest across the catchment states and beyond, urging them to link up with this media outlet (Muslim News) for further updates and announcement of awardees of the maiden edition of the Iqraa Challenge

The Iqraa Challenge has been conceived by the Standard Bearers in conjunction with Students’ Network International as a means to revive the dwindling reading culture amongst Muslim youths.

The organisers believe that Islam has a very rich heritage of scholarship that needs to be projected for overall development and improve the leadership qualities expected from the youths of today.
