Federation of Muslim Women Associations in Nigeria (FOMWAN), Lagos State chapter is mourning the passage of Alhaji Abdulfattah Onikola, who served as an administrative staff of the Association for 35 years.
FOMWAN made the announcement in a statement issued on Friday by the Lagos state Amirah, Dr. Halimah Egberongbe.
It read in part, INNA LILLAHI WA INNA ILAYHI ROJIUUN. With heavy hearts, but with complete submission to the will of Allah, we announce the sudden demise of our dutiful and humble secretariat staff, Alhaji Abdulfattah Onikola.
“He answered the final call today (Friday,10/9/2021). He will forever be remembered for his humility, piety and selfless service to Allah and FOMWAN Lagos Chapter.
“May Allah expand and lighten his grave.
May Allah also console his family, relatives and the entire FOMWAN Family. Amin.
“The Janazah Programme will be announced in due course,” she noted.
Scores of members of the Muslim women organisation have continued to pay tribute to their late administrative staff for his dedication and commitment during his 35 years of service until his death on Friday.
“Allahu Akbar!!!!!! Innali llahi wa inna Ilayhi rajiuun. Alhaji AbdFatai just left us, Allah Akbar. It is so sad, but AlhamduliLlah, he lived well as a Muslim.May Allah (SWT) accept his Service since 1986 in FOMWAN as acts of Ibaadah, grant him Aljanat Firdaus, hold his family in comfort and console all of us in FOMWAN.
“Onikola will be highly missed. He had no closing hour at all throughout his service. Ha!!!!!he is gone. Oh Allah, forgive his sins and accept him, please. He served us well”, a member, said.
