Muslim News, Nigeria’s most authoritative Islamic newspaper, has congratulated the Muslim Ummah on the successful conclusion of the 1443 AH Ramadan fast, which signals the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.
In a statement on Monday by Mallam Rasheed Abubakar, Publisher of Muslim News, the holy month of Ramadan was likened to an institution whose purpose is to train Muslims on self retrain.
The Publisher therefore charged the Muslim faithful on sustaining the charitable acts they have been exhibiting beyond the holy month of Ramadan.
On this auspicious day of #EidUlFitr, we (@muslimnews_NG) wish all our well-wishers and the entire Muslim Ummah a day filled with happiness and love that spirals us into unending tranquility. #EidAlFitr #sallah#EidMubarak

“We at Muslim News congratulate the Muslim Ummah on the successful conclusion of the Ramadan fast. This is no doubt a joyous moment for us. We therefore thank Allah (SWT) for the grace of witnessing and concluding this rewarding month,” the statement read.
“Though Ramadan has come and gone, we must not relent in our efforts. We should carry on the rewarding activities we observed during the month. Ramadan is just like an institution that has come to train and prepare our minds ahead as Muslims. It is Ramadan that has gone, qiyaamu layl, sadaqah, nawaafil, tilaawah are still with us. In fact, the voluntary fast is still there. We should continue to observe them as our capacity dictates.”
Recalling the theme of Muslim News’ Annual Ramadan Lecture (1443 AH), which is “Love for One’s Country”, Abubakar emphasized the need for Nigerian Muslims to promote the interest of the country and contribute to national development.
He warned that Muslims should not be found participating in causes that are for the division of the country and against national interest.
According to him, what is expected of Muslims in the face of this challenging leadership and troubled nationhood is to be ambassadors of change so that the society can be better for all.
Muslim News meanwhile prayed for peace, security and economic stability in the country, advising leaders to rule with the fear of Allah.
