Ansar-Ud-Deen proffers prophetic solution to Nigeria’s security challenge, bad parenting

Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria has called on Nigerians at all levels and family institutions to return to the parenting style of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), saying adopting it is one of the solutions to the parenting and insecurity challenges.

ADS, Nigeria’s oldest Islamic organisation made this submission in a communique released at the end of the 10th National Merit Award, held on Sunday at Yard 158, Event Center, Oregun, Lagos.

The event, which featured presentation of awards to 30 distinguished members, was part of the activities marking the Society’s Triennial Conference, tagged Eko 2022.

The communiqué issued by Alhaji Teslim Adediran, Communiqué Committee Chairman and Alhaji Nasirullah Atere, Secretary, emphasised the return to the parenting style of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

The society appealed to Nigerians to revert to the prophetic moral values which made for good parenting.

According to the organisation, the issue of moral decadence as reflected in vices such as ritual killings, kidnappings, banditry and corruption must be nipped in the bud.

The group hailed the Nigerian Inter Religious Council (NIREC) for dousing the effects of religious disharmony in the country.

Nigerian Muslims were enjoined to obtain their Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) and not sell their votes during elections.

The society said Muslims should be more concerned about the competence of the candidates and not religious consideration.

In his own submission, the Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu called for collaborative effort with parents and religious bodies in their quest to curb crime and societal vices.

The governor, who was represented by the Commissioner for Housing, Moruf Akinderu-Fatai hailed the society for the promotion of education and religious harmony in the country.

Chairman of the occasion, Dr. Wale Babalakin (SAN) represented by Prof. Tajudeen Gbadamosi, extolled Ansar-ud-Deen for tailoring their activities in line with the pristine Islamic practice as exemplified by Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

Babalakin urged Muslims to emulate the prophet as a role model.

While welcoming guests and members from different parts of the country, the president of Ansar-Ud-Deen, Aare (Dr.) Ademola Sanni said the triennial event, 10th in the series, was organised to appraise and review the programmes of the society over a time span.

The gathering, according to him, is also used to engage governments at all levels via contributions on germane global and national issues directly affecting Islam and Muslims

The President said the theme of this year’s conference borders on the roles of family units and parenting in the future dynamics of Nigeria.

“It is no longer news that the increasing spate of immoral precursor to the overwhelming insecurity and socio-economic challenges witnessed in our society. it is anticipated that attempts at overhauling the family unit and parenting styles with the appropriate socio-religious perspective will contribute largely to mitigating the effects of insecurity and socio-economic challenges.

The conference with the theme Parenting and the Psychosocial Effects of Immorality, Insecurity an Economic Challenges to Nationhood was delivered by Shaykh Abdur Rahman Olanrewaju Ahmad on behalf of the Minister of Aviation Hadi Sirika.

Ahmad, noted that a leader, who is not bothered about the security of the nation, should not be elected. Read more HERE

The host state’s chairman, Alhaji Abd Rahman Olabode Salaudeen expressed sincere appreciation to all the members for their contributions, cooperation and support towards the successful hosting of the historic event, which also featured award of excellence to distinguished members of the Society.
