The excitement is palpable! Nigerians especially families and friends have been waiting for this day! They have all come from far and near for the centenary celebration of Sheikh AbdulHafeez Abou, OFR, the Baba Adinni of Lagos, who clocks 100 years today, Wednesday, August 10, 2022.
From his home in Shiita area of Surulere, all roads will lead to the Lagos Central Mosque, Nnamdi Azikwe street, Lagos for the special prayer session organised by the Jamaatul Muslimeen Council, for the respected Islamic scholar.
Time is between 1am to 1pm.
Muslim News gathered that the event will move to Harbour Point Hall, Victoria Island, Lagos for the reception where prominent Nigerians from all walks of life, including Muslim personalities are expected to attend.
Some of the guests, according to the Executive Vice Chairman of Lagos Central Mosque/Bashorun of Lagos, Alhaji Sikiru Alabi Macfoy, are:
Sultan of Sokoto/President-General, Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar; All Progressives Congress Presidential Candidate Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu; Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Oba of Lagos Oba Rilwan Akiolu, among others.

Sheikh Abou, the patriarch of the Nola Family, was born at Ita Akanni area of Lagos on the 10th August 1922, and going by Islamic calendar, he is already 103 years of age.
