You want to have a successful marriage, be prepared for polygyny, Islamic scholar urges Muslim women

Imam Nojeem Jimoh

– Says no operator worldwide without challenges

The Imam of LightHouse Mosque, Lekki, Lagos, Imam Nojeem Jimoh, says despite successes of hajj operations in different parts of the world, they also have their hitches.

Citing the instance of his last hajj from the United Kingdom, the Islamic scholar noted that half of the group of 20 pilgrims that travelled with him vowed never to have anything to do with the UK agent again.

In an article, titled, “10/10 for NAHCON staff”, Imam Jimoh commended the courteousness of some members of staff of the Nigerian hajj body which he had cause to relate with as an intending pilgrim.

“My last hajj was from the UK and I recall half of us in the small group of 20 vowing never to have anything to do with the agent again. Personally, I thought the agent did his best and wasn’t in control of certain variables.

“As an expectant hujjaj from Nigeria this year (2023), I have had cause to relate with three members of staff of NAHCON, namely Omowabi, Mudrah Ishola and Gaffar Odunola,” he said.

The Imam explained that while he is yet to meet any of these three staffers in person, the level of courtesies displayed by them during their phone engagement is not so common in Nigeria.

He added: “I wouldn’t know if the consistency of the courtesies is due to training from the organisation or the individuals, but as someone who wouldn’t keep quiet if I experience or perceive a bad treatment, I think it’s only fair and just that I equally acknowledge the high level of customer care I have experienced from these individuals.

“Indeed, the call that woke me up this morning was from Mudrah and it was simply to tell me the commission was doing everything to get our flight ready in the shortest time. This puts minds at rest and I commend the commission and these individuals for this.

“May Allah grant us the best of hajj. Aameen.”
