Muslim Public Affairs Centre (MPAC) Nigeria has claimed that the Israeli apartheid and the US’ foreign policy is responsible for the incessant crisis in Palestine that have seen thousands of innocent Palestinians lost their lives over the years.
The Executive Chairman of the centre, Mal. Kamor Disu made the statement in Lagos, Southwest, Nigeria, on Saturday, after Israeli airstrikes on the besieged Gaza strip launched following a Hamas offensive martyred at least 198 Palestinians.
The territory’s Health Ministry added in an update on its Facebook account, that over 1,600 Palestinians were also wounded.
Mal. Disu said, “Israel’s ongoing occupation of Palestine, the violation of Palestinian human rights and denial of the Palestinian right to self-determination strongly enabled by the United States are responsible for the current situation in Palestine.
“The catastrophic unfolding of events this morning is the direct result of Israeli illegal occupation of Palestine which is nearly 60 years old, and its inhumane siege of Gaza for close to 17 years now.
We call on all people of conscience to condemn Israel’s apartheid policies and forcefully speak out against the Faustian pact between Israel and United States which has plunged the entire region into turmoil and sustained a long period of terrorism against the Palestinian people. Israel must abide by international laws and be restrained to avoid further loss of life,” he said.
