Iyewo Clinic emerges first runner-up at state-wide startup contest

Iyewo Clinic, a startup in the medical industry owned by a Nigerian US-based physician, Dr. Jalilah Folake Kofo-Idowu, has emerged first runner-up at the Female Founders and Funders Programme.

The programme was a state-wide contest for startups founded by women in Lagos.

Muslim News gathered that it was held as a collaboration between the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) and the Afriglocal VC.

The Iyewo Clinic recently partnered with its non-profit sister organisation, Amal Outreach, to provide free medical screening for less privileged people in Lagos Island.

Iyewo crossed the first hurdle when it was selected as one of the 21 startups for the incubator session. It was later shortlisted as part of the top 6 finalists after a rigorous preliminary pitch.

The final pitch, which held on July 5 at Lagos Continental saw Iyewo clinching the second position.

It was awarded a sum of 1 million naira as prize.
