The formal opening ceremony of this year’s Da’wah Holiday Programme of The Companion, an association of Muslim men in business and the professions, is to be held next week in Lagos.
DHP ‘24 is organised by the group, in collaboration with its women and youths’ wings – The Criterion and The Dawn respectively.
According to a press statement signed by the Publicity Secretary, The Companion, Lagos District, Tajudeen Balogun on Friday, the upcoming formal opening is slated for next week Wednesday, 25th December, inside the main hall of the Lagos State Model College, Meiran at 10:00am.
Themed: “Tapestry: Weaving Strong Bonds Across The Ummah”, the ceremony is expected to be chaired by the Managing Director, Starlink Global and Ideal Ltd, Alhaji Muritadha Adeniji.
While the theme of the programme is to be delivered by the Chief Imam, Lekki Central Mosque, Dr. Ridwan Jamiu, The Companion National Amir and his Lagos District counterpart, Engr. Kamil Olalekan and Alhaji Abdul Kabir Olayiwola Baruwa are the event’s Chief Host and Host respectively.
DHP ‘24 is to commence from Monday, 23rd December, 2024 and last till Wednesday, 1st January, 2025.
The 10-day camping programme will feature: lectures on topical issues with educational, professional, life experience and spiritual benefits; Qur’an memorisation; capacity building training; mentoring, networking, among others.
Delegates are from age eight and above, comprising university undergraduates, fresh graduates, secondary school students and those who have graduated, as well as working class adults.
DHP is one of the initiatives of The Companion, National. It’s aimed at training Muslim youths on Islamic fundamentals and teachings, academic excellence, entrepreneurship and leadership.
It traditionally holds between late December and early January annually in different states of the nation. Lagos is the hosting State for the 2024 edition.
