* Insists on September 26 deadline for biometric data, December 2 for fare remittance
The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has released the approved fares for the 2027 Hajj, with intending pilgrims required to pay between N7,560,822 and N7,882,822, depending on their departure zone.
The Commission announced the fares in a public notice dated August 14, 2026, saying the approved charges were determined in line with the principles of transparency and cost efficiency, as well as the Federal Government’s commitment to the welfare of Nigerian pilgrims.
According to NAHCON, the fares were arrived at following consultations with the leadership of the Forum of State Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards and key service providers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Commission said prevailing exchange rates and the cost of services required for the pilgrimage were also taken into consideration.
Under the approved fare structure, intending pilgrims departing from the Maiduguri and Yola zones will pay N7,560,822.
Those from the Northern Zone will pay N7,672,822, while intending pilgrims from the Southern Zone will pay N7,882,822.
NAHCON said intending pilgrims who had previously deposited N5 million are required to pay the outstanding balance to complete their registration.
New intending pilgrims were advised to make their payments through their respective State Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards, Agencies or Commissions.
Payments can also be made through any approved participating bank under the Hajj Savings Scheme.
The Commission also announced deadlines for the completion of key preparations for the 2027 Hajj.
NAHCON fixed September 26, 2026, as the final and absolute deadline for the complete upload of intending pilgrims’ biometric data on the designated Nusuk Masar digital platform.
It also directed states to complete the remittance of all 2027 Hajj fares by December 2, 2026.
According to the Commission, the deadlines are in compliance with the requirements of the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and are necessary to ensure timely data synchronisation and seat allocation for Nigerian pilgrims.
NAHCON stressed that no extension would be granted beyond the stipulated deadlines.
It warned that failure to meet the requirements within the prescribed timelines would result in the forfeiture of allocated Hajj slots.
The Commission therefore urged intending pilgrims to complete their payments and registration requirements promptly.
It also advised State Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards, Agencies and Commissions to ensure that all necessary payments and biometric information are submitted within the approved timelines.
NAHCON said the measures form part of its preparations to ensure a smooth and well-coordinated 2027 Hajj operation for Nigerian pilgrims.
