The Muslim Teachers’ Association of Nigeria (MUTAN), Ojo Zone, has graduated 29 participants from the third cohort of its Artificial Intelligence and Digital Marketing Training Programme, organised in collaboration with AI Literacy Hub.
The graduation ceremony, held on Wednesday, September 9, brought together the graduates, members of MUTAN Ojo Zone, facilitators, family members and well wishers to celebrate the completion of the training.
The programme was designed to equip participants with practical skills in Artificial Intelligence and Digital Marketing and help them apply emerging technologies to education, communication, content creation, business development, productivity and other areas of professional and personal development.
The third cohort also reflected MUTAN Ojo Zone’s growing interest in ensuring that Muslim educators and other members of the community are not left behind as Artificial Intelligence and other emerging technologies continue to reshape education, work and communication.
From learning to practical application
The training focused on practical applications of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Marketing rather than theory alone.
Participants were introduced to modern AI tools and shown how they could be used to improve productivity, support teaching and learning, create content, develop businesses, conduct research, communicate more effectively and solve everyday problems.
The programme was facilitated by Coach Abdullah Oladimeji Davies, founder of AI Literacy Hub, alongside Mallam Abubakar Abubakar.
Coach Davies combined technology education with practical demonstrations, mentoring and hands on learning, while Mall. Abubakar also guided participants through the practical use of Artificial Intelligence and related digital tools.
Coach Davies said the training was intended to help participants move beyond simply hearing about Artificial Intelligence to understanding how it could be applied meaningfully to their daily activities.
He said AI literacy should not be limited to technical experts, stressing the need for teachers, professionals, entrepreneurs and other members of society to understand how emerging technologies could enhance their existing abilities.
Mall. Abubakar similarly emphasised the importance of practical exposure, noting that participants were given opportunities to work with AI tools rather than merely learning about the technology theoretically.
He encouraged the graduates to continue practising and exploring new applications of the skills they had acquired during the programme.
MUTAN leaders join graduates
The training also attracted the participation of senior members of MUTAN Ojo Zone, including the zone’s chairman, Alhaji Suara Shittu, and the MUTAN State Secretary, Mr Asimi Saheed Olajide.
Both officials were themselves members of the third cohort and graduated alongside the other 27 participants.
Alhaji Shittu described the training as an important opportunity for teachers and other members of the community to acquire skills that are increasingly relevant to their professional responsibilities.
He commended AI Literacy Hub and the facilitators for making the training practical and accessible, saying the knowledge acquired could be applied in education, communication and other areas of daily life.
The MUTAN Ojo Zone chairman encouraged the graduates to put the skills they had acquired into practice and continue learning as Artificial Intelligence develops.
Mr. Olajide, who also participated in the training, said the programme had broadened his understanding of Artificial Intelligence and its potential applications.
He commended the facilitators for their patience, practical demonstrations and willingness to guide participants throughout the training.
According to him, the experience demonstrated that AI education could be made accessible to people from different professional backgrounds when it was presented in a practical and structured manner.
He urged the graduates to make effective use of the knowledge acquired and continue improving their skills beyond the programme.
Graduates reflect on the experience
The impact of the training was also reflected in testimonials shared by participants during the graduation ceremony.
Several graduates spoke with Muslim News about how the programme changed their understanding of Artificial Intelligence and opened their minds to possibilities they had not previously considered.
For some participants, the training helped to overcome the fear and uncertainty often associated with Artificial Intelligence, while exposing them to practical ways of using technology for creativity, productivity, education, entrepreneurship and personal development.
The Digital Marketing component also provided participants with an understanding of how digital platforms could be used to communicate, reach audiences, promote businesses and create new opportunities.
The experiences shared by the graduates underscored the importance of moving from general awareness of Artificial Intelligence to actual use.
The graduation therefore marked not only the completion of a training programme but also the beginning of a new phase in which the 29 participants could apply their knowledge and skills in their workplaces, businesses, classrooms and communities.
Davies receives Award of Appreciation
One of the major highlights of the ceremony was the presentation of an Award of Appreciation to Coach Davies by MUTAN Ojo Zone and members of the AI Literacy Hub Cohort 3.
The award recognised his instruction, dedication and mentorship throughout the training, as well as his commitment to helping participants understand the practical applications of Artificial Intelligence.
It also acknowledged the patience and time he invested in guiding the participants through their learning journey.
Reacting to the award, Coach Davies described the gesture as an honour and an encouragement.
“This thoughtful gesture is a great encouragement and a reminder of the impact we can achieve when we work together to embrace knowledge, technology and positive change,” he said.
He expressed appreciation to MUTAN Ojo Zone and the graduating participants for their trust, support and active participation throughout the programme.
“It has been a privilege to serve and learn with you. May Allah accept our efforts, increase us in beneficial knowledge and make us agents of positive transformation in our community and beyond,” Coach Davies added.
Building AI literacy in the community
The completion of the third cohort comes at a time of growing interest in Artificial Intelligence and the need for individuals and organisations to acquire practical skills to navigate the changing digital environment.
For teachers in particular, familiarity with AI tools has implications beyond personal productivity. The technology can potentially support lesson preparation, research, communication, content development and other professional responsibilities.
The collaboration between MUTAN Ojo Zone and AI Literacy Hub therefore demonstrates how educational organisations can expose their members to emerging technologies through practical and structured training.
Coach Davies said AI Literacy Hub was established to make Artificial Intelligence education more accessible and practical, with an emphasis on helping people become confident users, creators, innovators and problem solvers.
He stressed that the objective was not to replace human intelligence with technology but to help people use emerging technologies responsibly and effectively while retaining human judgement and ethical responsibility.
Beyond the third cohort
With the successful completion of Cohort 3, AI Literacy Hub said it would continue its efforts to provide practical Artificial Intelligence and Digital Marketing education to teachers, students, entrepreneurs, professionals, organisations and communities.
For the 29 graduates, however, the ceremony marked the beginning rather than the end of their learning journey.
They are now expected to take the knowledge acquired beyond the classroom and apply it to their professional activities, businesses, teaching, communication and wider community engagements.
